In 1979, Monique Meier became the director of Zurich silk company Rudolf Brauchbar AG, renaming it Sourire en Soie in 1984. The company’s independent style, image, and marketing are based on integrating each individual design into a programmatically developed label. This shift in emphasis frees the textile design from the direct influence of the fashion industry. As designer, Ines Boesch designer has shaped the company style with her seemingly insouciant figures and sceneries.
