After studying at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Lucerne, the Swiss textile designer Claudia Caviezel (b. 1977) worked for the haute couture textile manufacturer Jakob Schlaepfer while also pursuing her own projects, ranging from fabrics to lampshades and from rugs to wall pictures. Currently, Caviezel is director of textile design and development at the fashion company Akris in St. Gallen. She was awarded the Grand Prix Design by the Swiss Confederation in 2016. Since 2011, Caviezel has been designing on a regular basis for Atelier Pfister. Her pillows, curtain fabrics, bed linen, blankets, and rugs display both her technical expertise in the field of textiles and her interest in experimental imaging methods.
