After studying industrial design at the Schule für Gestaltung Basel, Jörg Boner (b. 1968) first attracted international attention in 1996 as part of the design group N2. He has been designing furniture, lighting, and objects of everyday use in his Zurich design studio since 2001. Boner was awarded the Grand Prix Design by the Swiss Confederation in 2011. In 2007, he designed this small coffee table for the label Dadadum, founded by the Ticino-based graphic designer Demian Conrad. The table is made of eight folded sheet steel elements. Inspired by the origami paper-folding technique, the table’s sophisticated geometry distinguishes it from traditional Swiss metal furniture that relies solely on right angles.
